NASW & CMSA Seek Comments on Caseload Concept Paper & Caseload Matrix (7/7/08)
The health care system in the United States is complex and multidisciplinary.
The constant growth, demands and changes in health care have
had a serious impact on the viability and need for social workers
in all areas and settings. As a result 400 social work
leaders attending the 2005 Social Work Congress adopted an imperative
to “elevate the public’s awareness of the efficacy
and cost-effectiveness of social work practice in healthcare.” NASW
has launched a Health Initiative to expand its policy
work and public education activities in this area.

As more Americans continue to face the difficult reality of paying an electric bill or purchasing prescriptions, a higher percentage of minority families are faced with these decisions. Health care disparities are growing crises for minority families across the United States. In order to address this problem, Congress has introduced bills that deal with the dire needs of access to and adequate health care coverage of services. +more info |
